Make Candy Cane Ornaments and personalize them for the Holidays. They are great sellers and you won't be able to keep up with the orders. I charge $5.50 which includes 1 candy cane, 1 Dad, 1 Mom, 2 Kids Snowmen each additional person or pet is .25 extra.

On the brim of the hat I used a permanent marker and personalized each snowman on the dogs I put the name on their ear, on the cat I wrote it where ever I could.

The easiest way to do this it so have all kinds of snowmen made up in different colors, Dad's, Mom's, Kid's, Dog's, & Cat's and put them into a plastic divided tote to display them and let your clients pick an choose the ones they want.  Have a hot glue gun with you and then apply them to the Candy Cane. If you have the on the candy cane before personalizing them it is to hard to write on the brims of the hats. You can maneuver them in your hand much better before they are applied to the candy cane. For a display I used a small Christmas tree with lights. Made up some samples of ornaments (that I later gave to families for the holidays) and displayed them on the tree. At the top of the tree I made a colorful sign with pictures of the finished product & the price list on it and hooked it as if it were the tree topper.

Below find photos to give you an idea as to how they are made with some written instructions.

The clay I used is polymer clay.

Each dog is first started with a small round ball shape. Flatten it with your thumb and fingers, then push it into a teardrop shape. The ears are made the same way and then molded to fit the face. Do not paint faces until the clay has been baked. See instructions on clay for temperature and time.

The Cats also start out with a small ball of clay and flattened. Pinch on top of the head a small amount of clay to form the ears. I use acrylic paint to paint the faces on and put a acrylic gloss clear coat on each piece to make them shine

The Candy Canes are made starting out with a round ball about an inch around. Rolling it out into a long worm shape. Roll the two colors together and  flatten like the photo above. Put a small eyehook in the top for hanger. Or use a small bent piece of wire for the hanger.

As you can see the Dad is a larger face than the kids are. Use about a half inch ball for the Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Flatten and use a toothpick to poke the holes for the mouth.

For the nose take a tiny ball of orange clay and roll it between your fingers to shape one end into a point to look like a carrot. Apply before you bake the  piece.

For the eyes use small black seed beads. Also put them in before you bake.

To the left are examples for you to look at as a guide and the right is an example of one of the hats in pieces.

Good Luck! If you have any questions you can email me or post on them
