Ideas for Sea Shells
I like to collect sea shells when my husband and I are at the
beach, and many people have their homes decorated in the
sea shore theme. First clean your shells, in a bucket full of
water, a small amount of bleach. Do not use to much bleach
or it will take any color out of your shells. And a cap of dawn
dish soap. Leave them sit over night. Rinse them well with
clean water. Dry them on a bath towel for a day so they are
totally dry. Use permanent markers to draw seascapes on them.
Such as, light houses, water, fish, flowers etc.
You can do this with all types of shells, small or large. They
make a beautiful decoration and addition to your sea shore
theme.
Ways to Use your Sea Shore Treasures
Below are some of the things that I used the shells, stones, etc. that I found on the New Jersey Shore on. Just some ideas for you to look at. Note: These items are all sold items.

| A small plain birdhouse I found at the dollar store and decorated it with stones & shells from the beach |
The wishing well is made with stones, bark, and pop cycle sticks. The bird house has shells also. |

| This is actually a small cupboard. Decorated with stones, shells, fake grass & some miniatures I had. |
There are so many things you can do with the treasures you find on the beach. Here I have made bird baths out of upside down shells, dripped hot glue to make it look like water running down a waterfall. |

| These are darker stones from the beach. When you pick up stones from the beach they are smooth and easy to apply. |
After applying all your treasures use some acrylic clear gloss or semi gloss to cover the project. It brings out all the beautiful color and designs in the stones and shells. |

| This Cigar Box has a clay light house that I made on it with some sand for texture and shells to decorate the sides. |
This butterfly is all made from tiny stones found on the beach. Also I put them all around the edges of the Cigar Box as you can see. |
